So my yj is up there in mileage... Runs like a champ though and with the recent lift installed I'm going to put larger tires. Here's the question.. Do you think that 33s will be way to much for my old engine to handle?

I have 33s on mine. 113000 miles with a 4.2ltr. I noticed some power loss up hills but it runs and drives fine.

It will be harder on the transmission and rear ends; but it should be fine.

If you re gear it will even be better. :)

My old 4.2L with 33", and 190K miles runs just fine; runs much better with the new 4.10 rears I installed.

I've got an 89, 4.2L with 118K miles on it... I pulled the 32s off and put 31s on & couldn't believe the difference... I'll stick with the 31s, even though I love the look of 33s, my worn out old Jeep just can't handle it right now...
