I would start with armor, should be ok on power but if you wanna off road it armor is always a good start or lift depending on the fund$. Just my opinion ...

Speed in a Jeep... Oh man that is good.

These things are built for excitment at 1 MPH not 100 MPH. Know what you mean we have anemic JK as well, power bahlows. Air intakes and exhaust won't get you where you want to be. Superchargers will. If you really want to wake up the jeep, get the gears done. Now, you have to consider is it worth building up those dana 30's or do you save up for the Dana 44's. Then, do you have an auto or standard transmission?

Lots goes into building jeeps. Wheel it for a while, get out with different people and see what is what out there.

For the most part, intakes and exhaust don't do much for these vehicles.

Go for the armor first.

Engine oil pan, and Transmission pan skids, and sliders to start with. The make is your choice. But it's a start.

For shits and giggles I will answer your direct question... I hate how people always avoid the question and recommend shit you know you will need only if you are going to off road, which we know you will... ok, I recommend k&n intake and filter but remember to clean it often and do not over oil the filter... you can research why later... aem is okay, but I personally prefer k&n.... I personally love Magnaflow exhaust systems... magnaflow exhaust with k&n intake system will sound sweet and give you a slight hp increase... however as mentioned, eventually regear to "feel" the change... when you decide you want to tear it up off road, get armor in the "vital" areas... but armor can wait if you are not hitting it hard... remember armor adds weight and when you are finished with where you want to be you will be weighed down and will need even more power... especially when you armor up, bumper, winch, 4" lift, 35" shoes, lockers, recovery gear, regeared... oh shoot, then you will be bored and want a new one and start all over ;) best advise above... just empty every pocket haha good luck buddy and keep us posted on your build :)

Save your hard earned dollars and buy armor, bumpers, or an on board air system. Air intakes and exhaust mods won't do anything for performance on these 202hp monsters.

Hi derick13. Welcome to the forum. Try doing a search in the JK Jeep Wrangler Forum. Your question has been asked before, and you should find some answers that way, but as others have mentioned these modifications do very little if anything to help with power.

Most of the responses you got here assume that you intend to take it offroad, but I didn't see you saying that that was your intention. All I heard is that you're looking for more power. You did mention Big Bear, and many of us here translate that as wheeling, but you didn't actually say you took it wheeling in Big Bear. If you're not going to take it offroad, armor is not needed and will only add more weight to your Jeep, theoretically making it more sluggish.

If you want more power, you will have to trade it in for a '12.

If you want REAL power, HEMI swap! :punk:
Jeeps are not really hot rods. I8RDS on here wheels a 4 cylinder TJ. And she wheels hard!

Bad Bad Boys. You have 3.07 or 3.21 gears and 33 tires then a swap to 4.56 or 4.88 gears will make a ton of difference in performance. It won't give you any horsepower but it will let your jeep accelerate like it did stock. JPi1 did my gears from 4.10 to 4.88 and I felt a big difference. Better mileage too. Biggest bang for the buck.

My 4.0L with 3.73's on 33's still chirps the tires pretty darn good. When I get my Lockers, I'll go 4.88's. until then, I'm broke!!! Lol

X3'd.
Little bit of a power monger myself (bru ha ha ha) but not bothering with exhaust or intake for the minimal gain in a Jeep. Normally a great place to start, but you might want to save your money and re-gear instead down the road. Much better bang for your buck.
Enjoy and welcome!
