Recently, I had a opportunity to buy this 92 wrangler that was in desperate need of some love. I couldn't pass it up, after all, its the same year they used in Jurassic Park.

I had one photo to go by and all I could see were 4 bald tires, rust, and mismatched doors. I asked the guy deliver it to me and he agreed. 2 hours later I saw him pulling in with it. The fool drove it :jawdrop:

First thing I did was I roughed up the Doors with some steel wool and sprayed them with some white primer. This is temporary.

Next I took the wheels off and got the brakes working. The brake light was on and the pedal felt soft. So I took them all apart, cleaned everything up and installed all new rotors, pads, drums, shoes, drum hardware, and brake lines.

After that I scrapped down the hard top and gave that a couple coats of Dye. Its not done yet. Don't worry. Cosmetics are preliminary for now as I'm not sure what condition the motor and tranny are in.

Next I went routing around for the rusted frame. I know, I know... Should'a done that first but I did not want to know just yet.

This is the only spot I found. So I sprayed the whole frame with some high quality rubberized coating and called my friend to get the frame patched.

Next I ordered some OEM orginal 2017 Jeep Wrangler wheels and tires. nothing like polishing a turd :) Of course I got the full set of 5.

Next I did a oil change, coolant flush, and replaced the air filter.
Ordered a set of 5x4.5 to 5x5 wheel adapters for those shiny new wheels. Still waiting for them to come in so stay tuned!

Next up:
Intake and exhaust gaskets
Replace the exhaust system
Replace Plugs and Wires

Sorry guys. I tried.

To attach photos to thread (Wrangler forum method)

1. Go Advanced (under message box)

2. Scroll down to manage attachments (attach files)

3. Another window will open, Choose File, Upload

There are also options such as Dropbox, Imgur, & Google drive.

If you don't see an option to edit it probably has to do with your post count.

Thanks for the help IRQ.

Pictures were uploaded via Imgur, using attached files.

I have the ability to edit posts but no pictures are showing up regardless. I'd like to fain ignorance here but I belong to 20+ other forums where I have done build threads on all of them for various cars, projects, and help tutorials.

This is utterly frustrating to say the least.

Thank you very much IRQ. You have been most helpful!
My goal is to provide more information than I consume on this forum. :winner:

I'll get this thread straightened out this week.

Hey man , If you don't mind spillin the beans , what kind of rubber spray did you put in the tub for sound because I saw this dude with a willy's and he had sprayed this "rubber" bed liner that as it dried it puffed up like spongy rubber and I can't find that stuff anywhere. I don't want Rhino or any of the hard shell types , I'm huntin for that puffy stuff.

Thanks. I got this one roadworthy after fixing all the PO's screwups, and did some mods . . .

. . . and then 'The Warden' claimed it!

So I got the red one in June. Basically box stock, so I wouldn't have to spend months fixing stuff! And I can do mods my way the first time. :)

Ooh nice paintjob on the old one! And what do you mean by "The Warden"? I have a feeling thats a nickname for the wife.... :D

And what mods do you have planned for your new one?

Yep, my better half! :)

Here's a close up of the paint job. We call it 'Spots, the wonder Jeep', since it's a wonder I actually fixed the wiring mess. And the wife is into leopard print stuff.

The red Jeep is going to be less radical, but I am entertaining the idea of tiger pattern graphics. The 'rips' won't be the same. Maybe paint cracked out, sort of like this, with the tiger print inside:

It helps that I do custom graphics and airbrush for a living! :whistling:

I'm not gonna do a radical lift this time. I'm in my 60s, and don't feel like doing calesthenics just to get in and out.
