Ok, so I have a YJ so I'll post this in the YJ forum... :flipoff:

I just picked up an OLDschool machinest's lathe. I'm actually going to set it up, clean/lube, etc this weekend. It's a biggie. Weighs in at about two circus fat ladies. Not sure what I plan to DO with it yet.. but, well, it's COOL! lol.

I have all of the drawers for the cabinet. I pulled them out to make it a LITTLE lighter. They're full of gears, tooling bits, pieces of parts and such. Should be fun.. right?

Good luck trying to hold any kind of tolerance with that thing. But perfect for making things that don't need to be super accurate, and a very good thing to have around.

lol, Nc, you're a dork!

I posted it on the lathe users website. The lathe portion is all SouthBend and the gearing at the left side says Eccles & Davies. One of the forum members over there says it appears to be a model from about the year 1940. The unit as a whole is right at about 4 feet wide. Should be entertaining. Those guys treat them like classic cars. They strip them all down and restore them.

haha, no problem.

As for the price... it was in the local paper as a freebie. I just had to pick it up and bring it home.
