Tire shopping today I was talking to a sales person at Discount tire. He was telling me the Cooper Discoverers were much better on ice and a lot quieter than the Goodyear Duratracs. Is this true or just ones opinion?
I'd do an online search for reviews on each tire. There may be other tires that are better on ice that Discount Tire doesn't stock.
I think that some tire salespeople might push a tire that is overstocked or has a bonus for the salesman.
Like car salesmen or politicians & lawyers, many tire salespeople are good, honest folks, but they get painted with the same brush as the crooks.
If your state allows studs, that's what I would recommend if you're concerned about ice.
