Hey Im new to this whole wrangler experience. I just leased a 2007 X model with the S package. My questions are...( Dont Laugh)

When taking down the soft top do you have to put the black bag over it?

Can you only take the soft top down half way?

What are the extra parts that came in the box with the windows,, I think they are straps???

What can I use to clean the soft top windows?

Oh and can why cant I use U Connect?

Here at WF, we don't laugh at the new folks (well not much anyway) even the long timers get stupid sometimes!

You don't HAVE to put the bag over it, but it can help make it last (keep it cleaner, safer)
Don't know about the halfway, not sure of the new tops, but probably not.
The straps are straps (two for your back window, and one for your windshield)
Mild soap/water and a soft towel works great on the windows.
Someone else will have to answer the U-connect Q, I got an old TJ.

WELCOME to WF and JEEPS

Also if I dont but the bag on it when I take the soft top down, what happens with the front clasps? do they jiggle? In the manual it says to close them but they cant close,, or snap down.

I have a TJ, the older model, but I usually take that bar out, roll the window up and put the loops on it, than lay that bar on the wheel houses behind the roll bars (tailgate end) near the tailgate so it doesnt get blown away.

Someone else might have a better idea, but I usually take it out because I roll it up tight and double-loop the window on both sides to stick it up higher. I think it sits too low, and too in the way otherwise :)

EDIT: Dont forget to clean your windows ANYTIME you roll them up. Rolling up dirty windows can and will cause scratches.

welcome to WF and congrats on your Jeep.
....alas, I have an "old TJ" too and can't help you with your questions, however when I bought mine new, the dealer included an informational video that included stuff about the top, etc....check & see if you can get one :D

No, you don't have to...in fact, most Jeeps did not receive those, as it was just extra protection to transport the Jeeps to the dealerships, and to be disposed of by the dealerships afterwards. I don't have one.

Not sure what you mean by half-way. If you have the Sunrider Soft Top, then you can take the top off of the driver and passengers area, creating a convertible. Or, you can fold it all the way down. You'll have to clarify what you mean.

What are the extra parts that came in the box with the windows,, I think they are straps???
Two straps (velcro) are for stowing the soft top in the rear of the vechicle. In the Unlimited, there are 2 slots in the tub on each side to put the straps through to keep the framework from rattling while stowed. Two of the straps (snaps) are for rolling up your rear window and keeping it stowed at the top. If you look at the soft top, inside, above the rear gate, you'll see two snaps to connect it to.

What can I use to clean the soft top windows?
Mild soap and water are suggested, and they've worked the best that I've found so far.

Oh and can why cant I use U Connect?
U Connect was not made available on the Wrangler, though it was on other Chrysler vehicles. Skuttlebutt in the JK world is that DC plans on making it available in later Wranglers, and used the exact same head units in '07 JK's.

if they do jiggle, it is not enough to notice. I close mine as if i were putting top back on. there is a rubber bumper that keeps the two section of the clasp from touching metal to metal
