It just started the other day
I was driving and started to hear a faint...sounded like one of those whistler bottle rockets..well as the days have went on it is very noticeable to the point people on the sidewalks look haha

I open the hood and keep it running and it is coming from the AC Pump area... as this is going on I must say that the fan is turned off on the panel inside...

I dont know anything bout the AC pumps but I am assuming there is some sort of clutch that is attached to the pulley that the belt goes around

would this be a good place to look?

p.s.
WHen i do turn on the fan and move the dial to defrost i get the Squeel from the AC area also

Check the tension on your belt,I had the same problem on my wifes Cherokee a few turns on the belt tensioner adjusting bolt and it fixed the problem, don't forget to loosen the bolt on the front of the pulley first. The AC pump comes on with the defroster to help dry the air.

I went out and put a little more slack in the belt with no help..
if anything it made the noise louder and a really really loud squeel when you start the vehicle up

attached to the AC PUMP what is there?

I am guessing a clutch/bearing/spring something along that line that is on the belt side of the ac pump

I don't think more slack in the belt is the answer. Could it be that it is too loose?

It is not really a squeel as much as metal/metal rubbing noise

more possibly on the line that something else that is constantly rotating is worn our or what not
