I am getting ready for winter.
I have a 2018 JKU Rubicon Recon with 255/75r17 BFG Mud Terrain tires. I don’t believe they are good enough for winter ice. I need to decide the size to get since the Hakka do not come in my size.
Choices are
235/80r17
245/70r17
265/70r17
Had Duratrac 315/12.5r17 on my last Jeep and while good in snow were crap on ice. Anyone have comments or experience with these?

If you can find 235/80 winter tires I think they'd be amazing. Thats the size I wanted last winter, but the Hakka SUV r3 was only available in 265/70 - which is slightly wider and shorter than my 255/75r17. Liked them well enough but I just felt kind of floaty on deep snow that the 235 would have cut right through.

I run 265/70's for winter rubber as well. The size works well for the winter conditions around here. I haven't had the LT2's, but ran the Hakkapelitta 8 studded previously and they were great.

We are running 285-70-17 LT2's without studs on her 15 JKUR. Also running a Teraflex leveling kit and 1.5" spacers. I would run 265-70-17 if it were stock. Love Hakka's.

Lt3

Just an update.
The LT3’s just came out at the same prices as the LT2’s.
Will get the LT3’s
I am leaning toward the 235/80R17 but don’t like the limitations on rims available.
Here are rim sizes
235/80R17 width 6-7.5”
245/70R17 width 6.5 to 8”
265/70R17 width 7-9”

Leaning toward the 235 if I can find a rim I like.
Generally, AEV Savegre wheels are my favourite wheels but at 17x8.5 only the 265’s fit

I've ran the LT2 in 265/70-17 for 4 winters now. Non-studded. Love 'em.

They're wearing thin, will be checking out the LT3, hope they have them in 34" or 35" size.
