Hi!

Have a 2012 JKU

Here in nor cal and need some help with battery connections. Put winch on 2 years ago and had battery connection issues which were resolved by tightening the cables/terminals.

Issue has come back and I don't know if I have fully resolved. Carrying a spare 10mm socket while doable, is not long term as I am a spaz with tools.

Came out from work and no juice to car. Another guy helped figure out it was battery terminal issue. Not sure if I tightened correctly.

Anyone in nor cal, if I drive to you, will you check it out for me? Im in Concord/Oakland area.

Give this a go:
Remove the terminals completely, clean the inside of the terminals and the battery posts (very inexpensive tool at autozone or the like), then reinstall and make sure they are tight. If you can move them with your hand they are still loose. Do the same for the other connections on the terminals.

Thank you. I will stop by store on way home tonight and try out.

The stock battery terminal connectors are garbage! While you are at the auto parts store, pick up some heavy duty terminals that can replace the crap you have! Be sure to pick up the type of terminals you can bolt your cables to. You might have to pick up an additional connector to bolt all of the cables on to the terminal connector.

I would but I am a few hours away. You need to make sure the nut you tighten has a ”cone” shape on it, I guess that helps it to move the clamp. Also while off bend the two little tabs in a little which may help. Some day I may replace mine, so far it hasn’t been an issue.

I used these from Amazon. Been on about a year and no issues since I put them on. Just cut off the original connectors right at the end of the cable (at the end of the flat portion) and "squished" the soldered/crimped cable end so it fit in the channels of the new connector.
