Jeep runs run rough and backfires.
Number 2 cylinder misfire code that I can not get rid of.
Changed the number 2 coil.
Changed all 6 spark plugs.
Did not help. Possibly made worse.
Swapped number 2 and number 4 fuel injectors with no change.
Tested power to all injectors and all coils. Everything has power.

Dealer, over the phone, thinks that it is also the problem but says there is no extended warranty for the cylinder head.

I don't know what her build date is, or mileage, but it is a 2013, plus the cylinder head issues are well know defects. So can you please help her out with this expense?

My Grandson just had the left cylinder head changed out on his 2016 JKUHR, with only 40,000 miles on it. So we know that this issue extends way past the 2013's. Plus another member just had one changed out on a 2017 model. Some of the dealers don't seem to understand this..IMO

I understand that there are written warranties, that need to apply. But when there is a know defect that continues to raise it's ugly head, then some Policy consideration should be available!

I believe it only covered the 2012 MY and very early build 13's. Like July/August. 2012 is the year to buy! haha....

Jeep has good compression and passes a leak down test.

My jeep has a build date of Oct 2012.
Dealer says my VIN is not included with the extended warranty.

Hi amandajh79,

I'm very sorry to hear about this. If you'd like to send us a private message, I'd be happy to have this looked into further on our end to see if there's anything we can do to help!

I'd verify that with Jeep Cares. Dealers aren't always upfront and honest when it comes to warranty work. They get paid peanuts for warranty work, and would rather get full pop retail from customers who aren't aware. Some try and double did when possible.
