I just plugged in my Bluetooth OBD2 link to the jeep for the first time. On all my past Ford vehicles, the power on the OBD2 port was switched with the ignition. So when you turn the car off, the Bluetooth adapter turned off. It seems on the Jeep, it has power constantly on. Even when I turn the key off, the, the Bluetooth adapter is powered up, lights on.

Does anyone familiar with the system know if there would be any horrible and disastrous effect if I switched the power wire on the port to an ignition switched source?

It would be easier to just put a toggle switch on the pin of the adapter getting power. Let me see if i can find the info. Seen it done. I've left move plugged in and parked for a week with no problems

I already have the wiring in place behind the dash with ignition switched power so it wouldn't be any more or less difficult. I would rather not have to remember to flip a switch.
