I noticed that the OEM steel bumper has a plastic section where the spare tire sites. 35 inch tires fit nice and snug without any modifications. I was wondering if I could remove the plastic piece in the bumper and fit a 37 inch spare, also without any modifications.

Anyone try this or have any thoughts?

No way a 37" would fit not to mention the gate barely withstands a smallish 35" .

It turns into the bustline of an 85 year old stripper pretty quick.

RubiconSS: I understand your point about weight and reinforcement brackets can easily be added, however as it is right now a lot of the weight is resting on the bumper. I am wondering if I can get away with mounting 37s without getting a new bumper, new tire carrier, or relocation bracket by simply removing that plastic section of the steel OEM bumper.
