I dropped the oil pan on my YJ. It has the 258 i6. I have 50psi Oil Pressure at start up, and it slowly drops to 0psi when warmed up. Runs fine though...

With the oil pan off, I hand cranked the engine, and I can hear a loud swooshing sound or rushing air. Is that air getting around one of my pistons? Bad rings or something? This part of the engine is new to me...

Have you completed a compression test preferrably at operating temp? It could be normal leakdown as you hand crank or it could be an issue.

Pressure test kit comes in the mail tomorrow. Going to just put the pan back on tonight since there probably isnt much i can do anyways. Will check the cylinder pressures tomorrow.
