I friggin hate my Jeep right now. I have a 2010 JK Sahara and the hooked door latch has claimed my second pair of jeans. If I am not "very careful" when getting out of my Jeep, my belt loop on the back/left side of my jeans get caught on the door latch. Why in the world Jeep would have designed this with a hook is beyond me. Anyone else do this?

Try leaning forward, my tj claimed three belt loops, once I started leaning forward I haven't caught one yet
I looked at mine and tried to figure out how this could happen. Got in and out a few times. Only way I could see it happening is if I put on about 200 pounds. Just sayin...
It really depends on the position of the seat; no weight gain necessary.
The seats adjust up, down, back, forth, and tilt.
I'm 6'5" and 230 pounds. If I have the seat adjusted for interstate travel, the latch snags my beltloop or pocket. If I have the seat adjusted for aggressive trail riding, I don't get hung up on the thing.

...wish I had a picture of the short gal hanging by her shorts. That's a classic and a great campfire story!
should this be in "You know you own a jeep when..." thread?
have it happen in my YJ all the time when I get in the jeep. It has not happened in the wifes JK yet.
Sounds like a case of large a$$ itis. It is common among americanus eatiss tomuchess. That's why they call it a wrangler. you have to wrangle big american a$$ cheeks to a manageable herd size to pass the hazards at doorjam pass.
That was actually pretty funny Chucky...That could be my problem but I do have to say, I think I need to lean forward more when getting out
I actually had this happen to me on my 07! Getting out and ripped the back pocket nearly off! Embarrassing when riding commando style!
ripped my boxers getting in once due to my lift. Other than that, my work pants always gets caught on the side when stepping out.

Investing in some rock slider/step combo....ACE or LOD next month to alleviate the problem.
My 02 TJ was guilty of that, doesn't happen on my 13 JKUR
Not so much in the front, but getting out of the backseat of a JKU the door hook has countless times assaulted me. Unprovoked, nonetheless :p

Yes, it happens and the TJs are even worse..............
How is it that I've had two jeeps over the last 10 years (TJ & JK) and have never had this happen? I tall so I have the seat all the way back too.
I think this is really the length of your legs and the way you exit the Jeep... farther the seat is pushed back, greater the chance you'll get hooked on. I have short legs so I'm pretty close to the steering wheel. Don't get close to that latch. If someone just falls out the wrong way and hooks on it, just try to do things differently.

Just wear sweatpants... :nonono:
