So I have a full set of OME bushings that have been on my jeep for less than 50 miles and they're already completely destroyed. My shackles are torqued roughly 35-45 lbs. Pics below. Any ideas? Surely I must've done something wrong here.

Are there metal sleeves on the bolts inside the bushings?

The rear bushings are still disintegrating after a 20 minute drive. Had to park the jeep so I can swap the rear bushings out. Im worried about the frame bushings because they're larger than the front ones. Does anyone have replacements?

Wouldn’t you have to buy an OME shackle kit in order to use OME bushings? Since the OME bushings end up wider than a stock rubber bushing, I would think you need a wider sleeve.

Did you just buy the bushings?

According to sellers, they offer the OEM bushing kit which works with OEM shackles. Then they have the greaseable shackle kit which works with their old man emu shackle kit. Im sure it's because of the length of the sleeve as well.

I went though some drama with shackle bushing not fitting my Con-Ferr shackles properly. I ordered a set of OEM stye bushings from Energy Suspension thinking may that was the problem the "aftermarket shackle style was not fitting right.

The OEM style bushings are tapered on the end to fit the factory shackles that are made to work with more rounded rubber bushings. I cant find a picture of one but this is an example of how they are shaped to fit the factory shackle.





And the aftermarket shackles are just flat to sit against an aftermarket shackle made from flat bar stock. That is the difference between OEM and aftermarket bushings.

As far as your bushings falling apart i dont know that is weird but 50 foot pounds seems to tight. I run my shackles with nylock nuts and tighten it till the nut is flush then go another 1/2 turn and call it good.

I bought old man emu OEM style bushings which are flat on the outsides. I was provided with the steel sleeve for each corner of the bushings. So far the crown replacements are holding up. I did the same thing with the crown bushings as well.
