Reading some post out there in regards to the best position to maintain the clutch lever

In
Out
In between

Where should be at? And will it be safe?
My commute is about 70-100 miles a day
Between 35-75mph roads

Wknds is all about the outdoors
Winch time every weekend
Depending on trails

Mine is kept in the locked position, I guess that would be "in". Definitely don't want to leave it in free spool... I have had my XRC for over a year now and it hasn't let me down yet...

Most people I know leave it locked and in the in position. Out would be fine too. Just don't leave it in freewheel. Lots of bad things can happen.

XRC has the brake in the drum so there is resistance on the drum so it wont birdnest in freespool. so either engaged or freespool is ok with that winch.
