Hello all,

The flats is having an open ride May 13th through 15th.

Here is the original event posting from NC4x4.

The Flats Offroad Park will be having a OPEN RIDE to the public on May 13th-15th! Gates open 9am Fri. & close 4pm Sun. We will have some new obstacles to try out and concessions on Saturday. No one has climbed the new obstacle yet so if you climb it YOU NAME IT!! FREE GIVEAWAYS & RAFFLE ITEMS COMING SOON!!! Search The Flats Offroad Park on Google Maps for directions. Fees are: Day pass $25 covers rig and driver $15 per rider. Weekend pass $45 covers rig and driver $20 per rider. $5 Kids 12 & under. 5 & under are free. How varied are the trails there? Everything I have seen in pics and videos are extreme climbs with rigs that are barely jeeps anymore. Can a stock or lightly modified jeep enjoy over 1/2 the trails there?

You could have a good time, especially if it's dry. Plenty of areas you can get around and maybe even stop off and watch some of the other guys try the tough stuff.

As it turns out, My daughter graduates college that weekend. I'll check it out some other time. Thanks for the feedback.

I still have fun at the park open on 33s and have done almost every trail in my buddies samurai on 35s locked f/r. I would say you could enjoy about 1/3 of the trails and it sure is fun watching the buggies go for the hardest trails.
