I did a search and honestly it did not come up with much, but I am sure this has been asked many times. Almost everything I read is about upgrading the basic system.

Here is my issue, I absolutely hate the 430N, especially the delayed u-connect when someone calls me. I use my phone a lot for work and it drives me insane that the stupid "Call from xxx" keeps going even if you answer the call. You have a 5 second delay and almost every time the person calling me is wondering why I am not talking.

Anyway I do not mind the actual sound overall, I have a 2016 with the upgraded speakers and they aren't that bad. My friend with the same system upgraded just the head unit to the Alpine i207-WRA, I was going to do the same, but now his sound doesn't compare to mine. I read doing this disconnects the factory amp??? He loves his head unit, but cannot stand the sound. He is now looking to upgrade everything else.

So here is my question, has anyone upgraded the 430N with an Alpine and kept the stock sound? If so did it take an amp to do so? Or has anyone done a full upgrade to the stock Alpine system and been completely satisfied?

I am open to buying the Kicker speakers IF they are better then the Alpine, but I have read they aren't that much better. I am also open to buying an amp if needed. If it takes doing the whole system over I am OK with it, but I would want a lot better sound and from what I have read that does not always happen.

Can this be a thread for JUST 430N Alpine upgrades? That is what i was trying to find and I could not do so.

Thank you all.

I don't know much about the Alpine premium system, never having owned one. But past installation experience tells me you would likely need to add a new amp when you upgrade the head unit to get comparable output as you have now.

Of course if you're willing to do that you are open to go with a different brand. There really isnt any reason to stay with Alpine. You may find that you like the layout and GUI better with a Pioneer and Kenwood.

Speakers - Kicker vs. Alpine is really a matter of taste. If you make a change they will probably sound different, but not necessarily better.

If you have the factory Alpine speakers you need to flash and install a Maestro rr that will interface with the factory Amp.
If its not flashed properly that will cause all kinds of issues with the CANBUS.
The i207-WRA does come with everything you need including the Maestro rr, just an i207 does not.
And yes the uconnect system sucks, there are plenty that find it useless, I am one.

+1 on the Maestro. I had a PAC adapter before and when I swapped from a Pioneer 2700 to the 2300NEX mechless I got the Masetro. Essential and will sound better than the 430.
