A good place to start, IMO, is a 4" lift from Rough Country, and putting some 33" tires on that bad boy. That will get your butt off the ground, and let you enjoy just about anything out there. If you have unlimited funds, then I would highly recommend a 6" lift, with 35" tires. Also a tummy tuck would be very beneficial, which would easily cost you another grand. I can spend your money very quickly...............It is always painless when spending someone else's money........lol. When it comes to modifications, the sky is the limit, and or, the funds. You will have to be more specific to what you would like to do with your Rubi.

Winch's are something that not everyone will agree on. I like the Warn winch, and got a brand new 9000i on Ebay, for only $650.00. I will have to hand it to Warn for being a very good and progressive company. The winch was brand new, but second hand, and arrived with a cracked end cap. I called Warn about a replacement, and had no problem paying for it. They told me not to worry about it, and charged me nothing for the part, or shipping. That is great PR in my book. There are cheaper winch's out there, but I don't know if there are any better ones out there.

Boy, people are into those lifts. Not my thing.

The first thing I would do is take the top off.

That would not be considered a mod, I wouldn't think. And some people actually like to go four wheeling with their Jeeps.

I take mine out, but I just don't do it to go wheel. My Jeepie is more of a companion for my activities than actually being my activity.

I suggest that we make 'taking the top is a mod' into "man-law".

I have to say that lifts are a bit over-rated in my opinion. I know its not the same but i used to have a dodge ram 1500 with 9 inches of lift and 35's and it sucked. to big and slow. i dont think you need a lift to go trailing. I have 31's on my jeep and its great. Of course you get more ground clear. with a lift but more problems as well. Just read other threads on here and you will read about death wobble, steering issues etc......
I would go with 31's, lockers, winch, lighting, and skids. Oh ya you do have a jeep so you will also need to think about security. put some lock boxes inside and a lock on the hood. If you drive your jeep everyday like i do you will need good security. Alot of guys on here, and i dont mean all but alot use their rigs on the weekend only. they dont drive them everyday. Remember to be safe....
I'm with Amerijeep and [email protected], it's not all about the lift. A stock Wrangler will do quite a bit. I built mine to be able to safely commute to work (35 miles each way) or to go out and tackle the wheeling I choose to do. Wheeling is wheeling, you don't have to have 35's and 4" or more of lift to go wheeling.

One of the great things about this site is there is a ton of experience. Build the rig for the way you are going to use it!

Enjoy..

Congrats on the Jeep. The Rubi is set to run most trails,(with in reason of course) from the factory. Thus as Amerijeep said, put the top down and go have fun. However if you feel the need to mod it, i would start with the following: Oil pan skid, tow hooks, and joining a local 4x4 club to get some seat time in, This way you will know how to drive it off-road, and can decide if it something you want to do more, then invest the $$ in it.
New "Man-Law"

Does this qualify?.......this is how I wheel, this time of the year. No hard top, no doors. But now I have to go outside, and put the hard top on, so the wife can drive it to work, without messing up her hair, and so she can listen to her music.........lol

well maybe.....http://www.manlaws.com/
No we got your man laws jepper and believe me I did chuckle. :D

Hell bud with the Rubicon model you pretty much got everything already that most people wish they had from the start. Front and rear lockers, 4.10 gearing, and a 4:1 TCase. So you can move right into enjoying and beefing it up even more. :d

You might want to play around on the Rubiconownersforum. those guys have put together a lot of home made mods that can be done to your Rubicon to make it even better.
