Have a 2007 JKU Rubi. Took it out today and on my way home it popped a P0420 Code. I replaced the spark plugs and got a tune up less than 1k miles ago. What other symptoms could it be? Catalytic Converter or O2 sensor?

How concerned should I be about driving around with this code?

Catalyst inefficiency. Whenever I've seen that code on other vehicles it usually means the cat/s are bad. Hope that's not it, I'm sure they are a pretty penny. I'd try the downstream O2 sensor that measures behind the cat and see if that does it.

Curious if you figured out what was the cause?

Common answer is that it's a bad cat but that's probably the last resort given the cost of these. There are multiple other sources for this code such as exhaust manifold leak, fuel injector errors, incorrect spark plugs, ignition timing problems, bad EGR valve (staying open), and even improperly screwed in O2 sensors. All of these can be checked before coming to the conclusion that the cats are bad.
