Just changed out plugs and wires on the 3.8L. Had a misfire and found a bad wire after the tune up. I could smell unburned fuel coming out the pipe while troubleshooting that and now it's brought up the catalytic converter code P0420.
I didn't run the thing for more than 10 min over the span of the weekend to find the ignition problem, so I'm hoping going for a highway run will blow what crap there is out of there and it'll all be good again. Hopefully that much raw gas wouldn't be enough to fail the converter. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

Could be due to misfire. Clear code & drive vehicle, see if it returns..
Yes, the unburnt fuel from the misfire caused the cat code but not till 10 miles down the road. I did clear it again but haven't been out yet to check. I'm thinking a little blast down the highway might blow some junk out:atomic:
