painted my hardtop black it used to be sort of an olive khaki color

First I washed it, then I took a scotch brite pad and scuffed it up until the finish was gone then sprayed it down with degreaser and wiped it down and made sure it was squeaky clean, taped over the side windows with newspaper, and removed the rear window and the seal, then started painting I used Krylon fusion satin black and did light coats I used 6 cans. I like how it still kept the textured look from factory. But thats how I did it and I couldn't be happier

Wow, that looks great. I've been thinking about doing that to mine with the same paint. Let me know how it holds up after a few car washes and months of weather.
