The wheels on the Freedom Edition are painted mineral gray. I've never had painted wheels and wondering if the paint can peel or get messed up over time as opposed to a non-painted wheel? I would not be going off-road. Any thoughts?

In my experience, it will hold up fine. Just as good as the paint on the body, and just as good as you care for it.

Yes, the wheels are closer to the ground, thus putting them at greater risk for damage/corrosion, but even machined/polished wheels will have the same issues.

Assuming you don't scratch them on a curb (or rocks), they will hold up just fine.

A properly applied paint/clear coat will not peel/flake without some external influence (scratch, gouge, etc.).

Incidentally, the wheels on the Sport, Sport S, Rubicon (parts), Moab, Sahara (Altitude) are painted as well.

The paint alone won't be an issue. The trick will be to keep it there when driving near curbs and the tire guy swapping tires.

Almost all of the wheels are painted, so you have to be equally careful.
