Performance for 05 Rubicon Unlimited

Hi,
I have an 05 Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited 6 spd.
Can you guys tell me what parts i can get to give more power to my car?
Theres no superchargers yet for the 05's due to the new ecu program.
So, I went ahead and ordered Banks Headers and Borla Cat Backs.
Is there any other chips out there other than Jet Chip for the 05?
And did anyone ever had any bad experience with Jet Chip?
I heard from a shop that Jet chip actually ruin the car in the long run unlike some of the other chips. Well i wanna hear from someone else opinions about that as well.
Thanks in advance.

p.s. links to the online shop would be awesome.

If you have a big bank account, check out:
www.aev-conversions.com
It is a HEMI conversion. There is a story about it in the August 2005 issue of JP magazine. I don't see a price anywhere, but I bet it about $10K or more.
It's a Rubicon. It's got more power for doing what is was designed to do (crawl over stuff) than you will need. ...unless you get really big tires. Then you can regear. It sounds like you should have bought a sports car. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I find myself just cruising when I drive the Jeep. I drive the wife's car when I want to go fast. :p
You are on the right track with the "chip", but you may be more interested in the Hypertec programmers. They just plug into your dianostic port (right under the dash) and you answer some questions based on modifications and the programmer reconfigures your stock computer to maximize any performance parts you have installed (you Header and exhaust). I am not sure that Hypertec has one for the '05's yet, but I know they did through '04, so it's worth a shot. I know that 4wheelparts.com would have them, but not sure if they would be the best price. I would recommend shopping around.
Haha, yeah i have been driving sports car before buying the rubicon..
I bought it cos i can drive crazy(crawl all over the place) in it and also so that i wont have to rent a car each time i go snow boarding.
Its true, i have been just crusing around with this jeep but 100 mph as a top speed.. errr i dont know about that.
But ill check on the hypertech program.
How bout hot wires spark plugs? Does that help at all?
i love fast cars, but i think the only performance mod ill do to my 06 rubi is flowmaster 40 muffler.....i love to drive fast, but i got the rubi so, i dont really care about it n e more

i did trade a very fast car in for it tho...a 1998 lexus GS400 with 300 HP and it was considered the fastest sedan in the world in 1998

i realy only want the flow master for that deep throaty growl more then the HP bc there really wont be much difference if n e at all
I've got to agree with UnLTDRubicon on this one. When I drive my Tahoe I can zip down the highway at 80 doing the one-finger steer. When I take the YJ out (even commuting to work) it's a two hand -- pay attention to everything -- ride at 65 max. Running through the backroads is just more fun running a little slower and taking it all in.
it's a culture shock...

I just traded my '04 STi for an '06 Rubicon and am having some performance related issues myself. While the Rubi won't do 0-60 in 4.6 seconds like my Subaru did, it will get me through some rough Idaho winters without so many "white knuckle" commutes.

As with anything, it just takes time to get adjusted. I only have 600 miles on the Rubi so far. Even though I miss the sports car I feel confident that I made a great choice in a new vehicle.

I would be interested to know if the re-programmer makes any difference even without any modifications to the engine or exhaust. Are there some hp gains to be had over the factory settings?

Good luck with your new toy. I'm looking forward to doing some customizing. I have a couple of Rockford Fosgate amps (800 watt 4-channel and 360 watt 2-channel for the sub) and some RF truck boxes from my Dakota that are going into the Rubi. I'm going to keep the factory HU which came with satellite radio for the time being, but the stereo should be much better once I get it installed.

I traded my '99 carrera for this. :) Thats why im having a hard time adapting.
But I still love my new rubi.
Im getting my sound system installed next week.
OOOhhhhh cant wait... 13" w7 sub
05 Ssr

When I wanna go canyon Carving I use the Chevy 400 plus HP top down azzzz kicker 115mph thru Spearfish Canyon SD when I wanna go down to the party by the stream I use the O6 Rubicon
