I don't see the market for another light truck brand - Chevy, Dodge/Ram, Ford, Nissan, Toyota; plus the EPA clean air regs/mileage requirements are only going to get worse. Anyone coming to the truck market now is a decade too late.

P.S. Dodge/Ram would fight any cannibalization of their market share.

If someone makes a midsized truck with any type of tow rating. I hate fullsize trucks for some reason, and the only midsized truck with a decent tow rating is the Dakota. It has a 7k rating. The Colorado has 1500 I think, and tacoma is around 3500. And being a decade to late on the pickup game, small pickups have a big niche and if they would make one with a solid axle and some offroading goodies it would be great.

I hear what you mean. The Colorado is 4,000# but the old s10 with less power had 8,000#. Isn't the Dakota done? That's what I heard. And the ranger is out but expected to come back and I believe the Colorado is on its way out too. It's really just the Tacoma that sells well. My buddy has a silverado that gets better mileage than a Tacoma, so with more payload, power, towing, and comfortable seating, why get a mid sized pickup?
