Think I have a problem with the 4.0 in my 97sport. My buddies a mech and think it sounds like a piston wrist pin. Any thoughts if it's worth fixing? Or should I look at replacing the engine? It's got 150,000 miles on it. Thanks.

I am a leap in front of you with 275,000 miles on my 97 4.0. If mine goes, I'll swap it, to me it's not worth repairing or rebuilding with that many miles.
If you are handy with a wrench you can save a lot of money. You can get a complete engine thru Car-Part.com with a lot less miles fairly cheap.

Great name!!!! Ya, I'm kinda leaning toward putting a remanufactured motor in this bad boy. It's my first and probably last jeep. I'm really not that handy with the steel but got a bunch of wrench monkeys that will do it for a few beers. For now tho, gonna run some diesel oil I'm it to dampen the noise.
