Hi I'm new here and i don't know if this is the correct section to post this question, if it is the wrong section sorry my bad.
I have a 1998 jeep wrangler tj 2.4L 4cyl. 4inch full rough country suspension lift, and alot of other stuff that doesn't matter for my question haha. Anyway i recently went to go get a modified inspection and i found out my front driver side upper and lower balljoints were bad which doesn't bother me. Then I found out my frame was broke, i think it's would still be considered part of the frame, I think it's the rear driver side upper control arm mount but im not sure. I had the balljoints replaced and the guy also tried to weld(it's just easier if i post a picture of where it is broke so im not calling it the wrong thing. The pictures are before the attempted weld) what was broke. The metal on what was broke was thiner the the metal on the the frame and the metal on what broke kept disintegrating. Where can i find the mount in the pictures or whatever i need to have that welded and fixed? I'm more of a bike person so im still learning the more technical stuff with vehicles and my jeep is my first vehicle. I'm really scared that this cant be fixed so any help would really be appreciated and if possible links to what i need to buy to have this fixed. I dont have alot of money but if i need to spend it to fix my jeep then i will. Also ill post the pictures in alittle bit my phone won't let me post them

here are the pictures of where it is broke. Also if possible i want just the bracket instead of having to replace the whole thing but what ever the cheapest strongest way is, then thats what I'll do. Like i said I don't have alot of money but I'll spend what I have to too fix my jeep.

here are the pictures of where it is broke. Also if possible i want just the bracket instead of having to replace the whole thing but what ever the cheapest strongest way is, then thats what I'll do. Like i said I don't have alot of money but I'll spend what I have to too fix my jeep.
The first picture is your lower frame control arm mount, and the second picture is the upper control arm frame mount. Both parts are readily availble. Thst do a search for control arm mounts.

Sorry for the confusion, both pictures are of the same mount just different angles. Thanks for clarifying what the parts are for me. Also I just found this mount on amazon, will it be good to get and be all i need to buy to have this fixed?

Except that one picture includes the lower mount and one doesn't.
I understand that. i was just clarifying what both pictures were meant for. Sorry for the terrible wording my mind is everywhere worrying about getting my jeep fixed because it's my only vehicle

I just found these control arm mounts and i can't figure out if these are the right ones i need. Can anyone tell me if these are exactly what i need to have my jeep fixed with this problem. They look different than the stock mounts but I don't know if that's just because these are aftermarket mounts. Here is the link Rusty's HD Rear Upper Control Arm Frame Brackets (97-06 TJ / LJ)

The Rusty's mount is a heavy duty mount that you likely won't need or want to pay for unless you plan on rock crawling your Jeep. I put a pair of those on mine a few years ago, and they are stout. If your jeep is a driver and mild trails, I would just get stock replacements from like Amazon.

Eventually down the road when i have the money i want to turn my jeep into a beast of a offroader but still just legal enough to be a daily driver. But for the time being i should just get the one i posted a picture of then?

Unless you are going to install the mounts yourself, I would recommend that you consult with a shop with regards to your best course of action.
The guy i have doing the work for me said if i can get a new mount he can weld it. I just talked to him to make sure he can do that and he is the same guy that tried to weld it as is so he already knows what that area of my frame looks like. Ill order the mount tomorrow off of amazing it's the one i posted a picture of earlier.

Take a good look at the frame around that mount. A lot of times, the frame will rust/rot badly from the inside. By the time it's noticeable outside, the metal had lost too much thickness to reattach anything to. An alternative to what's been mentioned is autorust.com safety-caps. It's a frame section cap with the bracket already attached. They're well made and readily available. If you eventually plan to make a "beast" off road vehicle, start with a solid frame.

Thanks for the information. Tomorrow after I get off work I will look closer at the area of the frame for rot and bad rust. The part you put a link for, does that just go over the frame or does the frame have to be cut out for that section and then that piece goes in? If my frame is badly rusted more than I thought I will get that part ordered.
The part is meant to slide up over the frame from the bottom. Most often, the bottom and lower sides of the frame rail rot first. The worst of it can be cut away, treated, then capped with this part. Sounds like you could be at the beginning stages, but let's hope not. Spend some time under your jeep with a hammer and small punch and sound the frame all over. Don't be shy, it's a steel frame. If there's a thin spot, you want to find it.

Today after looking at the break closer I found out that the mount didn't break off of the frame, the mount it self is what broke. I just ordered this mount in the picture from amazon to replace it. Also the rust on the frame itself where the mount broke isn't bad but it will be getting a wire brush and undercoated in that area, the rest of my frame is good and undercoated for the most part. Where the mount broke, the frame is still strong no rot or anything other than rust. I'll post back with a update when I have one.

While you are welding and treating your frame, drill some drain holes to save yourself some headache in the future. Makes flushing easy and will extend the life of your frame

I have a very depressing and mad update for me. The new mount was welded on yesterday, and today i found that all the welds broke. The mount came with a paper saying what rod to use when welding the mount on and thats what was done when welding it on. When it was welded on everything went good, now today not even a full 24 hours after it was welded i checked the mount and all the welds broke. I called the guy who welded it and tomorrow before i go to work im going to drop my jeep off at his house and he said he will fix it for free. Is there anything that anyone here might know that they had to do to get a very strong weld on the rear driver side upper control arm mount that is looked over by most people when welding it on?. The metal was cleaned with a wire brush before it was welded so we have no idea why it didn't hold. Please any help would be very appreciated

You say it recommended a "stick" so we are talking about arc welding. Unless he used a tiny welder, that should be easy. A strong arc weld is not hard. A good looking, strong weld is and takes some practice. It really should have been easy the first time provided he used the correct settings. A standard Lincoln tombstone (most common arc welder) should have had no issue
