They are in place of rear power window switches if your Jeep is not equipped with that option.

I do have a JK so that part makes sense... But what did the Jeep elves have in mind for us two door folk to do with these little wonders. I tried opening a beer bottle on one to no avail.

Yep, grocery bag holders. I had a Nissan Pathfinder years ago with those on both sides of the cargo area.
