I'll start off by saying I'm not a mechanic by any figment of the imagination I'm learning as I go that being said when I'm in 4x4 primarily 4Lo a popping noise comes from my front end any ideas it's s 2011 jk
Only when turning, or going straight...both? If you can jack it up, see if each wheel turns smoothly. A popping noise usually isn't good, you could have a busted axle shaft, busted teeth on the ring gear, although either of those should be making noise when the jeep is rolling. I assume you've looked at the u-joints (the ones right behind each tire) I also assume your not on a hard surface when your hearing this?
When turning it's not constant tho mostly when on a hill or a rut and I should have mentioned it's done it since the first time I ever put it in 4x4 and I'm the first owner when I asked the dealer ship about it they said they didn't see any thing wrong.
