So I'm somewhat of a storm chaser in the southern US, except I typically drive away from the storms to see over them. I have capture this red sprite lightning hundreds of times now which is very hard to capture https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sprite_(lightning).
Managed to capture a weak discharge over a storm in southern Oklahoma a couple of nights ago, with the JL in the foreground. Second picture is one I captured mid month which made it to earthsky.org and spaceweather.com.

Makes me jealous.. :)

I love photographing weather... I've got all sorts of clouds, lightning shots and even a few tornadoes, but I've never even seen a sprite let alone capturing one.. Getting a shot of a sprite along with my Wrangler would be a real treat.
