I've driven two TJ sports with the Rubicom lift kit from the dealer. One would not shift into four low and the other would only hold four low if a front seat passenger kept the lever pulled back.
I presume that this is a shifter adjustment problem, but sems related to the lift kit. None of the non-lifted TJ's had this problem and I've driven dozens while shopping over the past tow weeks.

How about helping out a cowgirl? What do you say boys?

Sounds to like you need to stay away from that dealer. No telling what other problems there are.

Yeah, that is definitely a linkage issue. And I can't believe the dealers would let that be out on the floor. Find another dealership.

Hey Ranchbabe.
I notice you are in Arizona. I get the impression that you are going to buy a new TJ from a dealership. I bought my 2005 Wrangler X at Bill Luke Jeep in Phoenix a few weeks ago. I suggest that you go anywhere BUT there. I was VERY unhappy with my deal. I wish someone would have told me the way they do business before I bought mine there. In MY oppinion, you should avoid them.

Sounds like a linkage problem... The transfer case (t-case) linkage is attached with rubber mounts to the body, so if the t-case is moved in relation to the body (either up with a "belly up" skid plate, or down with a body lift), the linkage either binds or doesn't work at all. There are several companies that make solutions for this, Skyjacker being one of them. Good luck with your Jeep hunt!
