I recently had to jump off my battery in my 2001 and my radio stopped working. Its an aftermarket Kenwood Excelon and I took the fuse out on the back of the head unit and put it back in and it started working again
Look for an anti-theft security code in the owner's manual. Hopefully, if there is one, it's still set at the factory default....like 1 1 1 1 or something.
When you remove the battery, the radio can think it's been stolen and locks out.
If that's it, and you don't have the code, you're screwed and probably have to send it off to the manufacturer to get it unlocked.
