First off. What is this? I think it's a sensor of some sort. My front drive shaft blew off the side of my transfer case, so I put one in from an XJ but I have no idea where this goes. I think it might go on the transmission.

Also my check engine light is on. Every time I turn the engine off it smells kinda like burnt rubber. Have no idea if the two are connected.

What year TJ Tex?

That connector is for the Torque Converter Solenoid. I am guessing you have a manual transmission, which would explain that not being plugged in.

If you give us the year of your TJ we can tell you how to get the Codes your "computer" is throwing.

Let us know pal.
