Problems with 2002 Side Marker Light

Alright, I pulled my flares off a while back to bedline them and ran my rig for about a week with them off since I couldn't find the time to paint them. My passenger side marker light socket fell down into the tire and got shredded off. It seems like a simple replacement, but for some reason it's not.

I bought this product from Morris 4x4 but it doesn't twist into the lens slots:

Socket Assembly With Lamp 5455853K

This product looks like it would fit it but I'm hesitant to buy another one and deal with returning and stuff if I don't have to:

Jeep Wrangler TJ Fender Turn Signal Marker Light Socket 98 06 YL | eBay

Here is a pic of the lens I'm working with from the inside, as well as comparing the Morris part from my existing driver's side socket:

So what am I missing here? AFAIK the flares and lenses I've got are stock, but the supposedly stock socket does not fit it.

Anyone else dealt with this?

Some 194/168 sockets have 4 tabs and obviously the wranfler has 2. Just cut/trim off two of the tabs. I've done that before on another vehicle.

I'm pretty sure it is still too small to twist in regardless of the number of tabs. Do these things have varying diameters as well?
I recently had the same run in. After looking high n low, the stealership was the only option.

ah, well it looks like this was hiding in the nooks and crannies :whistling:

Socket, Driver Side Marker 5288612

I talked to the support guys at Morris 4x4 about it and they did some digging and found this guy. It LOOKS like the exact part I need, comparing to the driver's side. I have no idea why they think it's only for the 1997 models though. The flares on my 2002 are stock and I can't imagine the PO would have had to swap BOTH of them out for '97 stock flares. It looks like it was probably just mislabeled in the supply system.

Anyways I'm going to order it and hope it fits.

How much did you end up paying for it from the stealership?

And I just also recently had a run in with someone telling me '97's have different fogs/driving lights than the other two plugs.. weird...

I believe the plug and harness from Dodge was around $30 (and still didn't fix my issue. Assuming a broken wire further up the harness). I could really kick myself for paying that.
