I have a 06 TJ unlimited. Do I need a 4x4 truck to pull the trailer that my Jeep will rest on after getting busted on a rock? I think a 2x4 F-150 Ford will suffice, but my father-in-law seems to think we need bigger.
It also depends on where/how far you are towing it, but the difference between 4x4 and 4x2 is negligible, unless of course you have to pull it out of a hole first! I towed a 24 Crownline w/ a 4x2 F-150 fm Toledo to upstate NY a few years back, other that the gas gauge, we hardly knew it was back there! Make sure you center it over the trailer axle and strap it down good! Also, you should try to make sure the trailer tounge is as level as possible, it'll roll w/ less swaying, bucking, etc...I have a 06 TJ unlimited.
