I live in Fl. I have an 89 with a 4.2. My exhaust front pipe was leaking at the top, come to find out it was cracked at the flare under the flange. I have no cat so I couldn’t just bolt in a replacement pipe. I cut the pipe (under the trans), unbolted the flange, then tried to separate the pulse air system (I think) above a check valve (I think). The check valve (I think) split right in half when I pulled to get the hose off . Do/should I replace the check valve (I think), or can I remove the whole system?
