Ok so im looking to get tires without lifting. I am wondering for a 2001 wrangler what size i would be safe with no lift. I have a buddy who has a tj and he didnt lift it he now cant steer all the way to the left or right because the tires hit the wheel wells.

Rubbing is an issue for any over size tires, currently I am running 33x12.5 good year mt/r's with only a 1.25" bl, rubbing will always be an issue
Ive read that you could fit 31s without a lift and stock flares anything bigger you would need wheel spacers but if you had flat flares you could fit 32s and spacers
I have 31" duratracs on my stock height tj. I got them in preperation for a 2ish inch lift. They only rub the sway bar at full turn so i put one washer behind the steering stops to solve this. I wouldnt do much serious offroading as they will rub fenders hence the soon coming lift.

I'll post a pic when i get off work
Ok cool thanks lot guys yea if u could post a pic tht wud be great
31x10.50 is as big as can be installed on an unlifted stock TJ without rubbing. :)
Perfect thankyou for confirming. I am at a tire place now and right before you posted that they went up stairs to get me that exact size.
What tires are you getting? And pics or it didnt happen.... :)
i put em on ill put a picture in a minute

No it won't. It depends on the rim back spacing. I have 33x12.5. They don't rub on anything.

Oh well I have 1.5" spacers on all 4 rim set ups and I run constantly...maybe I just don't understand what we are talking about haha
Hey man my 31s are rubbing right now if i get 1.5 spacers you think that will stop the rubbing
You guys could always just buy a small and cheap economy lift. 2"s can make a big difference!! No pun intended lol

That would work if you dont mind spending the money, but if you're cheap like me you could just adjust your steering stops with a washer or two. And its alot easier than takin all the tires off and putting them back on :)
