so the other day i picked up my tj from the dealership the otherday drove to and back from work then the next day check engine lite is on i got the p1494 code about the leak detection pump i figured the cause of the code would be the gas cap because i also gased up day before it came on so i took the gas cap off and put it back on making surre its tight its the 1/4 turn type the light has been on for 2 days now and im wondering if its another problem in the ldp and cant find its location its a 2003 tj sport 4.0 engine

could anyone chime in and let me know the location of the leak detection pump in a 2003 jeep wrangler 4.0 engine please???

I hate that evap warning. I have chased it around for years. Usually only in the summer as I get low on fuel. I am interested in what others say too.

well i linked the jeep to a code scanner and erased it put a little white lithium grease on the rubber seal on the gas cap so lets see if the code comes back

The light will stay on for weeks if it is not reset. The only fix I found was to buy a brand new MOPAR gas cap.
