Driving home the other day one of my flange bolts on the transfer case sheared off. Looks like the other one it’s partnered with canine loose and let the collar vibrate it away. I’ve gotten the pair replaced, but I’ve gotten conflicting info on torque specs. Another forum had a link to a write up that said 15lbft everywhere except front axle(81ftlb). I went to a dealer to get the parts and the spec they gave was 29 and 89 respectively. I checked the other bolts and brought them all up to 29, but I’m concerned that they are over torqued now since all of them needed a few turns. Anyone have some insight on these numbers?

So, you need torque specs for the bolts on the transfer case/driveshaft flange?

For the bolts on the transfer case/front driveshaft flange, it is 15 ft. lb. (There are four retainers on this flange, one retainer per 2 bolts.)

For the bolts on the front driveshaft/front axle (pinion) flange, it is 89 ft. lb.
