I have an '06 Wrangler with 64K miles. I had the rear axle seal replaced 2000 miles ago because it was leaking gear oil onto the brakes and now it is leaking again and the other side seems to be leaking also. This was a "certified" Jeep with 58K miles when we bought it and it has been babied in the last two years since we have owned it (and before we believe). Question: do they tend to have leaky seals and would a Stemco seal fix it? Is there another problem causing this? Thanks for any suggestions.

Where was it leaking from? The ends of the axle tubes or from the diff?

Mine was leaking from the end of the axle around the axle seal. Didn't know it until I went to do the rear brakes and found fluid all over them. My differential covers were seeping as well, so I wound up pulling both and resealing.
