I just bought a 2000 and put it it into 4wd and the part-time light came on. Is this normal and does it go to full-time? I do not have user manual, if anyone can help with that it would be appreciated. I was also looking to get a lift, how high would you recommend and tire size. Thanks

This is normal. Part time 4 wheel drive is for use off road or in slick conditions. You do not have a full time four wheel drive setting.

Thats right, "full-time" would mean you could use it on the paved road all the time.

"part-time" refers to it only being able to operate in an offroad situation, or extremely slippy roads, otherwise damage to 4WD components could occur.

Never ingage a "part-time" 4WD vehicle on dry , high traction roads.
