First... I've not even bought my JK yet, but I will!

I am debating the lift and tires and wheels already... what I am wondering is it safe/ OK to put 35 inch tires on the stock spare carrier?

I did a search, but got SO many results I couldn't find what I was looking for.

Thanks for the info guys!

I wouldn’t run a 35 on the stock carrier. You’ll start to pop welds in the gate. I don’t know much about the product you posted but I don’t think it’ll help. I think some guys on here are running the Smittybilt tire carrier thing, but I don’t know if I’d trust it either. Maybe someone else who is running either of these will chime in.

I personally went with the OR Fab tire carrier cause it is separate from the rear bumper and comes it at $475 compared to a $1000 bumper/carrier combo. It supports up to a 37” tire.

Just be prepared for your door sagging and welds separating. This is from my 08 manual.
