I have 2012 jk wrangler sport. I am looking into adding a radio with touchscreen and possibly navigation. Recommendations? Factory or aftermarket?

I added a Kenwood DX series a couple of years ago with GPS and have been pretty happy. But I'm not a real 'sound' perfectionist either.
The only thing I would caution you to watch for is angle of view on the screen.

They look great in the stores where you're looking dead on at the display and sometimes you're in a darkened room. Now move to the side at an angle that would be about where you sit in the driver's seat and see how it looks under a bright light.
Mine is very hard to see because I run around with the top off and it's so bright outside.

I'm going to pull the dash off later and put some washers under the right side mounting screws to angle the screen to the drive's side. Might want to think about doing this when you install it if it's not biased for the driver view.

I can't imagine a touch screen being all that easy to use while actually driving. A touch screen is fine in the store or home/office but I'd rather have real buttons to make it easier to control it while I was focused on driving.

Your setting are set where I can not PM you.

Yes I have a RHB 430N radio and I do have the 4 digit anti theft code or it. I want $525.00 for it including USPS Priority mail shipping with insurance and tracking.

I put this Kenwood DDX372BT ($214.50 @ Car Audio Giants) in about 6 months ago, doesn't have built-in NAV but it's a pretty good radio for the price point. I installed it mostly for the back-up camera function, Pandora and BT.

One of the best out there right now is the Pioneer 4100NEX. Removable touch screen, runs Apple CarPlay and Android Auto so you get Nav without paying for it. The auto EQ and built in audio controls makes it one of the better sounding and flexible units for around $550. Can't be beat from what I have seen.

I've seen some your other threads that has me moving away from the Raxiom nav unit. I liked that since it was plug'n'play with the Jeep and retains uConnect etc. Is there anything difficult/special about the 4100 fitting in the JKU ('14)? Looks like with the module this one retains the uConnect.

FWIW - I narrowed my search down to the Pioneer AVIC 7100NEX and the Raxiom. I have no doubt that the Pioneer is the more sophisticated unit, but I ended up installing the Raxiom. Gave me what I wanted - NAV and backup camera - for a little less money and it was a very easy installation. Also looks stock. So far I am very happy with the Raxiom.

730N touch screen died so I went with a Pioneer AVH-X2700BS. No nav but it can pull a nav screen out of my iPhone. Around $170 refurbished. Did wiring last night, pulling the rear bracket Friday and finishing install. Plugged it in to test and sounded great last night.
