Quick question;

Working on changing out the u joints in my rear shaft today, and i'm having an issue getting the joints out.

I can shift them back and forth all day with my ball joint press, but the u joint bottoms out against the yoke before i'm able to press it out to one side enough to get the cap off. Can't seem to find anyone who's had this issue. Makes me think I'm missing something obvious. Suggestions?

x2, you'll have clearance once you remove the end caps.

May have to grab the end cap with some pliers or vice grips to get it out, but it IS the only way.

Old U joints? Cut em out. Then you can pound each cap out individually instead of working against both at the same time. Heat is also a huge help.
