Rear track bar bolt is winning

Trying to take off my rear track bar for my lift. I finally got the nut off the passenger side. I've spent the last hour cranking the bolt a mm at a time and I swear it's not any further to coming out. Do they screw out or just push out?

I used a dead blow hammer to knock it out most of the way and then I think I unscrewed it the rest of the way.
How did you bang that out with the spring in the way?
Support the frame on jack stands and raise up the axle to take tension off the bar. With the axle hanging it may pull on the trackbar making it harder yo knock out.

I'll try that tip. Thanks!
Be careful pounding the bolt out or turning it out, that's a good way to flatten the threads. It's better to raise or lower the axle to relieve the tension on the bolt.
I guess I have to find the happy medium somewhere between all the way up and all the way down. Haven't found it yet.
The axle is likely just pushing against that track bar mount. With the wheels on the ground, have a helper push hard on one side of the tub or the other to relieve the pressure against the bolt while you watch it and pull or pry on the bolt when your helper has relieved the tension on it..

I am guessing you have your springs, shocks off and the control arms also. Just raise your axle with a jack on each side for good support and while you are trying to remove it move the axle around up and down and front to back and you will see it free up and be able to get it out....
At least that's what worked for me...

I took my wheels off. Maybe that's my problem. Had to beat the dog stuffings out of them to get them off.

I don't have anything off in the rear yet. I'm done with the front part of the lift. Maybe I can recruit the wife out in the garage to help me? Wish me luck...
Maybe it is due to you living in Michigan. ;)
You mean the Winter weld your bolts with salt rust Wonderland? Ya, your right!
I am in south florida so I have no experience with that Lol.
Just went through this a couple weeks ago myself. Chances are the bolt has become rusted to the sleeve inside the track bar bushing. I did not have the pressure issue as I had already removed the drivers side of the bar. Ended up cutting the bolt with a cutoff wheel. Once it was freed I was able to replace the bushing and install a new bolt. I did for $hits and giggles try to remove the "stud" inside the sleeve once it was off the jeep. I beat the snot out of to no avail. Had to be drilled out and that was not easy either. Good luck.
I did pb blast everything every day for a week before I started.

See, that's the thing KyMadMan, the bolt turns in full, it just won't rotate out. If I can get it to the threaded portion I could screw it out. You took your drivers side off first? I haven't even THOUGHT about getting that star bolt out yet. I've been FLOATING it in PB blast for days

Well, we here in Michigan want to think that once a bolt to screw is on, we salt rust it so we don't have to worry about it accidentally shaking loose!
