Haven't really heard of a bad SYE kit, all sold for the TJ seem to be fine. Tom Wood at Tom Wood's Custom Drive Shafts - Tom Woods Custom Drive Shafts Custom Driveshafts Specialist has sye/CV driveshaft kits, you won't find better pre and post-sales support from Tom or his staff. I'm currently running them front & rear with 1330's and have run, I think, 5 of them over the years on two different TJs. Never an issue and Tom is a real gentleman I was privileged to meet and talk at length with at a 4x4 show years ago. Great guy.

Thanks for all the comments I’m already running a Tom woods front driveline so I planned on staying with them for the rear. Just didn’t know about SYE.

I have had both an Advanced Adapters SYE and now a JB Conversions SSYE. I vote for the JB Conversions Super Short SYE. If you ever plan on a tummy tuck it will help with the extreme angles. It also gives you a better operating angle regardless as it is 2" shorter than the standard SYE, this gives you a long driveshaft. The one downside, it coverts your gear driven speedo gear to a hall ring and tone sensor. Meaning you will need to factor in a speedo healer of some sort. Roughly, an additional $75-150 dollar added expense.

JB Conversion super short
Not many actually need a super short SYE, not to mention they eliminate the speedo gear housing so an electronic speedometer calibrator needs to be installed so the speedometer will work. I've had some pretty tall lifts over the past 20+ years and never needed anything beyond a standard SYE. That's even with me having a SWB TJ that has a shorter rear driveshaft. For most they're just a brag point but not actually doing anything that a standard SYE doesn't do.

Definitely didn’t need SSSYE for my LJ but it didn’t hurt anything and I already had a speedo healer so no change there.

Just order the combo from Tom Wood and be done with it.

i got sold on the JB SS SYE it is clearly beefier and more detailed in construction than the comparison unit they use. and that joint a couple inches forward equates to a lessor degree or 2 of angle as well as a bit of length.

I had no other choice but to install a super short. My driveshaft was binding at droop after installing the savvy ua and at 4" of lift.

I can probably manage that. I was wasn’t really specific in my question whats a fair installation price for the SYE.
