I'd like to revisit this subject. Just bought a 17 recon and I do love the looks of the recon skids. But, they seem to be bolted to the body and not the frame. This I cannot abide . . . The rocks and drops here in the Northeast are brutal and I do plan on wheeling this thing. So, not being intimately knowledgeable of my new Jeep's anatomy (former Xterra owner), am I looking at this the wrong way? If I crash down on my sliders will it bend my rocker? Will I mess up my new expensive toy?
. . . or should I just go with White Knuckle like I did with my X? Those are worth every penny, all 6000lbs of my X was teetering on those more than once with no sign of buckling or bending, I had the DOM ones BTW.
