Hello,

I just ordered a set of AtoZ rock sliders. After doing some more research, I'm planning on grabbing some material at a local hardware store and make a full length backing plate for the sides of the tub. The rock sliders are 3/16" steel. I was thinking of doing an aluminum bar like savvy does.

- What material thickness should I go with?
- What width should I go with? Looking at the bolt pattern again, I see there's two rows of bolt holes staggered, so I guess a better question would be, what width would I need from the bolt hole to the edge of the bar?
- Would an angle bar be overkill or get in the way?

I'm not where I can measure mine right now but they're pretty thick, I'd guess no less than 1/4" and possibly 5/16" T6061 aluminum.

This is what mine looked like when I installed the Savvy's sliders onto my previous TJ. They're on my present TJ too.

Thanks!

So I'll see whats available between 1/4" and 5/16" thick.

I see the ones with 6 holes is on the side. If you get a chance to check, what is also the width of this bar? Looks somewhere near 3" or 4".

What are the other 2 hole and 5 hole bars for?
