Bought my Granite JKU in November. First thing done was window tint. Then I pulled all factory decals and added my own. Also removed silver accents from bumpers. Started ordering parts and let them accumulate. This past Saturday we installed a TF 2.5" coil lift with Bilstein 5100's. I also added exhaust spacers and the Northridge grade 8 bolt upgrade. Got my 315 Duratracs mounted on 17" Pro Comp 7069's Thursday and added the TF gate hinge and spare mount yesterday. I also added some secure storage to the rear, but i still need to paint it. Tinted my 3rd brake light as well.. and here are the obligatory crappy cell phone pics...

Nice compilation of parts... I'm especially happy to see you are doing the lift yourself, as I've also done both of my last 2 TF 4" lifts myself.

Please give us an update of what it looks like when you are done... lol, then the thread updates on me...

...anyway, what are the specifics for your security box, please?

Thanks!

I am by no means a mechanic, but I know my way around a toolbox. The instructions were great and their youtube video was a big help. I also lifted my Titan before this and done ALL the wrenching on my Harleys when I had them.. Only way to know it was done the way you would've done it..

The box? Man I have no idea. A friend of mine used to be in sales for Pelican and had an extra layin around. There is no model number so I can't help you there. It's right at 40" long and about 10 inches wide. I set it about 3 inches away from the rear seat so the lid would open. Then drilled two 5/16" holes through the box and the floor:jawdrop:. Ran the bolts up from the bottom and secured them to the jeep with lock nuts. Sat the box back in and put the knobs in to secure it. The foam was already in the box. I will cut it differently when i get everything set that I want to put in there..

Wow, this is very similar to what I want to do with my new granite Rubicon. Can you tell me what gears you currently have, and if it's an issue for normal on-road driving? I have 3:73's and am getting some conflicting info regarding that. Also, was that hinge/carrier difficult to install? Thanks!

I have 3.21's in there now. It's surprisingly not bad. I already ordered 4.56's when I bought everthing else. I know my speedo is off but right now I am just under 2000 RPM's at 70MPH. These tires only measure out to just over 34" mounted so I am a bit concerned that my RPM's may be a little high after the gear change. I wouldn't buy gears yet and see how you like it after the tire change. Do you have an automatic? I have a manual so I can control my shift points as needed. That may make a difference.

The hinge and carrier was easy. I watched Teraflex's install video a couple times and had it handy during install. Most important part is supporting the gate and not opening it throughout the install. Solid piece!!

One more silly question - how tall is your Jeep now at the highest point? I'm trying to make sure this thing will fit in my garage once it's done (or that I'll be able to back it OUT once it's done)! doh...

I'll have to measure it. But I have a good couple of inches before I hit my garage door. Park it there everyday..

Nice looking rig.

Really like that rig. How did ya do the rear 3rd brake light mounting? I am in the process of building my front and rear bumpers. The rear will have a swing away tire carrier, but I am still contemplating what to do with the 3rdBL.

There was a bracket and extended lugnuts in the Teraflex spare mount. I had to cut the light off the top of the OEM mount and screw it to the new one in the kit..

Looks great Rooster. How long did the coil lift install take you in your driveway?
Thanks!!

About 4 hours. That included eating a biscuit and cleaning up my mess of tools. We took our time making sure we were doing everything right
