Bestop underseat lock box, help

Has anyone tried to install one of these, Bestop JK under seat lock box # 42649 in a 2011. I can't see how it will fit under there with that steel bar that goes across the front. I pulled the front two bolts and pulled up on the seat as much as I could and still could not get enough clearance for the box to go under. Am I missing something? Thank you for any help.

You can't fit both sides under the seat brackets, the driver's side goes under the seat bracket while the passanger side needs to go above it.
Here is a picture of it installed, it can only fit under the one side.

I'm hoping you're referring to the same issue that was mentioned in a thread I started on installing my Bestop box. Here's a link to the answer that was given. In short, you take the bracket off and zip tie the electrical cables elsewhere. If on the other hand you're referring to the slide/tilt bar (which it sounds like you are), it appears that it may not fit at all.

It must be the slide/tilt bar that you are refering to. It is a steel bar welded between the seat rails just below the release hoop/handle. There is no way the box will fit because there is only 3" of clearance between this bar and the floor.

Just looked at bestops web site, there is a small note saying it does not fit 2011 easy access drivers seat. The site I bought from, Summit, did not have that notation. Funny though, I still can't get the Easy access seat to do what it is supposed to do. Thanks for your help. I solved my own problem..

Bummer. It's a great product. Maybe take a look at Tuffy's replacement glove box, which is another small storage alternative.

I am thinking about making a few changes to it and mount it on the floor in the back, behind the rear seat.

Installed the Bestop underseat storage box today. Installation was very easy, took 8 minutes start to finish using just a breaker bar, no air tools needed. I like it, it will hold a Glock23 and a Lcr with my keys and wallet when I want to go running. Great product!!

I installed one a few weeks ago, great product. I can't wait to fill it with my new XDm .40.
